What's On The Ballot
Wis AG8-2-22
What does the Attorney General do?
Attorneys general head of the state Department of Justice, which  provides legal advice and representation for state agencies and all three branches of government.
                                                           Why does this matter?
As the chief law officer of the state, the attorney general oversees  Wisconsin's Department of Justice, and determines the priorities of state law enforcement.

As a member of the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands, the State Attorney General plays a key role in managing
  • the state's remaining trust lands with more than 77,000 acres of forest,
  • $1 billion in trust funds, used primarily as the sole source of state funding for public school libraries,
  • the state's archive of 19th-century land survey and land sales records.

The  August Book Club will meet in person in the roofed picnic shelter of Riverside International Friendship Gardens. If the shelter is not available, we will meet at the garden entryway to select a different spot in the park, so bring a chair. If weather is severe, we will meet via Zoom.
Bring your ideas for recommendations for books to read going forward.
All participants should still register as they will receive a backup Zoom link if the outdoor venue needs to be canceled. Participants will also receive an email confirming if the outdoor location is a "go."
