Tribute to Teri Lehrke, City of La Crosse Clerk

Robin Schmidt | Published on 12/30/2020

This past election highlighted the importance of local election officials – those who are tasked with ensuring our election process is secure, accessible and accurate. The League of Women Voters would like to publicly thank and recognize the efforts of the La Crosse City Clerk, Teri Lerhke, as she leaves that position for retirement.

Teri has been a significant partner and resource for the League and has worked with us to ensure accurate information is available to the public as elections come and go. Teri ensured our information and messages were consistent with election laws and city policy--we valued our partnership with her.

The League also recognizes Teri for her supportive and positive working relationship with the League as we conducted voter registration drives and developed information to ensure voters understood the process for requesting, completing and submitting absentee ballots. We are grateful for her professionalism and her commitment to our community.

Recognizing that we cannot give our many thanks in-person at a retirement celebration, we want to be sure the community understands that Teri has left a legacy of integrity and sincerity in running elections in La Crosse. We thank her for all she has done for our community and for democracy.
