On Nov. 5th, local voters in the La Crosse School District will be asked to vote "Yes" or "No" to this question:
Shall the School District of La Crosse ... be authorized to issue... general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $53,500,000 for the purpose of paying the cost of ... construction of a new elementary school to accommodate the consolidation of Emerson Elementary and Spence Elementary Schools at the existing Hogan Administrative Building site; removal of the current Hogan Administrative Building; construction of additions, including for classrooms and a gymnasium, at State Road Elementary School to accommodate the consolidation of State Road Elementary and Hintgen Elementary at the State Road site; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment?
When considering the impact on taxpayers, it's important to understand the reasons behind the referendum. This panel program is designed to help our community understand these issues before they vote. Panelists will speak for approximately 30 minutes, followed by a moderated Q&A with questions submitted by the audience.
