Voters don't need to be registered with a party to vote in the primary election. This means voters choose which party's primary they want to vote in when completing their ballot.

What If I Make a Mistake?

Carefully read all of the instructions.
Fill in the oval next to the party of your choice.
ONLY vote for candidates in that party.
Ballot referendum questions are on the back of the ballot.
If voting absentee, you and your witness must sign the envelope correctly.
If you make a mistake, contact your clerk to get a replacement ballot.

On August 13, WI voters will be asked to approve on two constitutional amendment ballot referendum questions. These amendments to our constitution would remove the governor's authority to accept or disperse federal funds sent back to our state for various purposes.

QUESTION 1: “Delegation of appropriation power. Shall section 35 (1) of article IV of the constitution be created to provide that the legislature may not delegate its sole power to determine how moneys shall be appropriated?”

QUESTION 2: “Allocation of federal moneys. Shall section 35 (2) of article IV of the constitution be created to prohibit the governor from allocating any federal moneys the governor accepts on behalf of the state without the approval of the legislature by joint resolution or as provided by legislative rule?
