Election Administration in Wisconsin. The LWVWI is conducting a 2 year study on Election Administration in Wisconsin. There are a variety of activities planned to focus our attention on what it takes to run an election in Wisconsin, from the government side. Currently we are surveying Municipal and County Clerks across the state on a range of issues, and compiling the results. We are particularly interested in the effect of recent federal and state legislation on the process. How has use of the new voter registration database changed the work? What is working better and what has made things more difficult or time consuming? Are there legislative changes that could improve the administration of elections? Make them worse? Can local citizens or groups help?

If you would like to learn more, we have a panel of several municipal clerks, including Terri Lehrke, Clerk for the City of La Crosse, who will discuss some of these issues. Bring your lunch and join us in a timely discussion of elections (and without the politicians!). The public is welcome.
